Job Description

An established commercial general contractor in the Chicago suburbs is looking for an experienced Estimator to join its preconstruction team. You'll own estimates from early conceptual budgets through hard bids and work side by side with design teams, trade partners and leadership on a strong pipeline of work.

What You'll Do

• Prepare detailed estimates and quantity takeoffs for commercial construction projects
• Build conceptual budgets from early design documents
• Solicit, level and analyze trade contractor and supplier bids
• Coordinate with architects and MEP engineers during design to keep budgets on track
• Use and maintain historical bid and cost data to sharpen pricing
• Identify scope gaps, risks, alternates and value engineering opportunities

What You Bring

• 5+ years of estimating experience with a general contractor
• Strong takeoff skills and comfort with estimating software
• Solid understanding of construction means, methods and costs
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or a related field preferred
• Clear communication, organization and attention to detail

What We Offer

• Salary range of $90,000–$125,000 per year, based on experience
