Job Description

A respected commercial builder in the western Chicago suburbs is looking for a Project Engineer to support its project teams on commercial work. This is a great fit for someone who likes being close to the action, learning from experienced project managers and superintendents, and growing toward a PM role.

What You'll Do

• Manage RFIs, submittals and shop drawing reviews to keep projects moving
• Help track budgets, change orders and subcontractor buyout
• Keep drawings, specs and project documents current and organized
• Coordinate with trade partners, designers and the field team on day-to-day issues
• Support schedule updates, meeting minutes and owner reporting
• Help with quality checks, punch lists and project closeout

What You Bring

• 1–4 years of experience with a general contractor or subcontractor (internships count)
• A degree in construction management, engineering or a related field
• Working knowledge of Procore, Bluebeam or similar tools
• Strong organization, follow-through and communication skills
• Eagerness to learn and grow into project management

What We Offer

• Pay range: $75,000–$95,000 per year, based on experience
