Tax Senior Manager - Private Client Services

Location: Memphis, TN

Overview

A large national accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Senior Manager for its private client services practice in Memphis. The practice serves high-net-worth individuals, their families, family offices and executives with complex tax and financial structures, covering estate, income, gift and trust tax consulting and compliance, charitable giving and related planning.

Responsibilities

• Manage tax and consulting engagements, identifying client needs and planning opportunities
• Act as the primary client contact for presentation of issues and resolutions
• Review complex individual, trust, estate, S corporation, foundation, partnership and gift tax returns and provide feedback to preparers
• Direct communication with government agencies on highly complex matters
• Conduct advanced tax research and develop sound recommendations
• Supervise, review, train and schedule the work of associates and senior associates and act as a career advisor
• Develop a network of financial decision makers and referral sources

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's in Accountancy or Taxation preferred
• 7+ years of experience in accounting, finance or law, including private client services
• Prior supervisory experience required; public accounting experience preferred
• CPA, IRS Enrolled Agent or attorney (admitted in a U.S. jurisdiction) required
• Experience with GoSystem, GoFileRoom, SurePrep and tax research tools preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
