Regional Industrial Sales Representative in Edwardsville

Date Posted: 26 October 2026

Job Snapshot

Job Description

I'm working with a long-established manufacturer of precision gears and custom gearboxes, and they're adding a Regional Sales Rep in the Midwest. You'll be the face of the company in your market. That means opening new accounts, growing current ones, and selling engineered gearing, gearbox builds, rebuild and repair work, and reverse engineering to heavy industry.

What you'll do

  • Build and run a growth plan for your region from a home office.
  • Find and win new business with OEMs, engineering firms, mills, refineries, power plants, mines, ports and heavy manufacturers.
  • Get to know plant, maintenance and reliability managers, along with purchasing teams and leadership.
  • Visit customers, give plant tours and technical presentations, and own the deal from first call to close.
  • Work with in-house engineering, estimating and manufacturing to put together the right solution.
  • Read specs and drawings, help customers decide between rebuilding and replacing, and keep your CRM and forecast current.

Industries you'll call on: oil and gas, refining and petrochemical, mining and aggregates, steel and aluminum, power generation, marine and ports, cement, rail, wind, defense, and heavy manufacturing.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of industrial B2B sales, with a track record of winning new business in manufacturing or heavy industry.
  • Experience selling engineered or industrial products, such as gearboxes, power transmission, rotating equipment, bearings, motors or drives.
  • A consultative, technical selling style.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Nice to have: a gearing, power transmission or reliability background, an engineering or technical background, and existing contacts in Midwest industrial markets.

What's offered: a competitive base plus uncapped commission, a vehicle allowance, expense reimbursement and full benefits. You'll be selling custom-engineered solutions, not commodity products, with strong engineering support behind you.
