We're seeking a highly motivated employment attorney with at least six years of experience counseling employers and management in all aspects of employment.
What you'll do:
- Advise employers on employment compliance and risk mitigation
- Draft and review handbooks, policies, separation agreements, offer letters, employment agreements, and restrictive covenant agreements
- Handle time-sensitive disciplinary and performance issues
- Guide clients through leave and accommodation requests
- Support M&A transactions and other corporate events
- Address wage and hour matters
- Represent clients in litigation, including agency proceedings
- Counsel clients on workplace best practices
What makes you a great fit:
- Familiarity with state and federal employment laws
- Counseling and litigation experience in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies
- Familiarity with a variety of e-discovery platforms
- Sound judgment and the ability to make difficult decisions
- Strong negotiation, drafting, and conflict resolution skills
- High accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication, with the ability to explain legal matters clearly and practically
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple cases and deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Requirements:
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school with an excellent academic record
- Active Massachusetts bar admission in good standing (other admissions a plus)
- 5-8 years of management-side employment law experience
- Portable billings of $300,000+ a plus
Nice to have:
- Executive compensation and/or benefits experience
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations
