I'm recruiting for a well-established, growing Boston law firm that's adding a management-side employment attorney to its team. This firm is known for top-level talent and personal client service, and it offers an established brand, key resources and a strong platform for growing your practice.
What you'll do:
- Advise employers on employment compliance and risk mitigation
- Draft and review handbooks, policies, offer letters, employment, separation and restrictive covenant agreements
- Handle time-sensitive disciplinary and performance issues, leaves and accommodation requests
- Support M&A transactions and other corporate events, and address wage and hour matters
- Represent clients in litigation, including state and federal courts and agency proceedings
- Counsel clients on workplace best practices
What you bring:
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school with an excellent academic record
- Active Massachusetts bar admission in good standing (other admissions a plus)
- 5-8 years of management-side employment law experience, covering both counseling and litigation
- Familiarity with state and federal employment laws and e-discovery platforms
- Strong drafting, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with sharp attention to detail
- Clear, practical communication and the ability to juggle multiple matters and deadlines, both on your own and as part of a team
- Portable business is a plus. Executive compensation, benefits or nonprofit experience is also a plus.
