A national general contractor with a dedicated sports and entertainment group is looking for an MEP Preconstruction Executive based in Chicago. You'll lead MEP preconstruction on select arena, stadium and venue projects and step in as Preconstruction Manager when a project calls for it. This is a high-visibility seat for someone who loves complex mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and big, memorable buildings.
What You'll Do
• Lead MEP preconstruction strategy from early concept through GMP on large sports and entertainment projects
• Develop and review MEP estimates, budgets and cost models, and identify scope gaps and risk early
• Drive value engineering, constructability reviews and system selection with owners and design teams
• Solicit, level and recommend MEP trade partner pricing
• Step in as Preconstruction Manager on select pursuits and projects
• Present budgets and recommendations to owners and company leadership, and support pursuits and interviews
What You Bring
• 12+ years of MEP preconstruction, estimating or project management experience with a general contractor, construction manager or MEP contractor
• Experience on large, complex projects; sports, entertainment or other public assembly work is a strong plus
• Deep knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems and costs
• A degree in engineering, construction management or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong leadership, communication and client-facing presentation skills
