Project Manager I – Commercial Construction

We're partnering with an established commercial general contractor seeking a motivated, hands-on Project Manager to join its Southeast Michigan team!
This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional who enjoys taking ownership of projects, coordinating with field teams, managing budgets, and delivering successful projects from start to finish.
The Opportunity
You'll oversee a major commercial renovation project involving a high-rise senior living facility. This project will require strong organization, communication, scheduling, and coordination skills, particularly in an active, occupied building environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day commercial construction project operations.
Oversee project budgets, schedules, and timelines.
Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
Work closely with Superintendents and project teams.
Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and procurement.
Monitor project costs and maintain budget controls.
Communicate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
Ensure quality standards and project deadlines are met.
Maintain project documentation and reporting.
What We're Looking For
Experience in commercial construction project management.
Background working for a commercial General Contractor (GC).
Experience managing projects valued at $15M+ preferred.
Commercial renovation, multifamily, or occupied-building experience is a plus.
Strong knowledge of construction budgets, scheduling, and subcontractor management.
Proficiency with Procore and Microsoft Project preferred.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to work on-site and travel to jobsites throughout Southeast Michigan.
