A well-established general contractor in the Columbus, Ohio market is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on construction professional to take ownership of field operations and help deliver a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects.
The company has experience across multiple sectors, including commercial, multifamily, industrial, civic, and institutional construction. They are looking for a motivated field leader who takes pride in project execution, team coordination, safety, and delivering quality work.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily on-site construction operations from project mobilization through completion.
Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
Monitor jobsite safety and enforce established safety procedures.
Ensure construction activities meet project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
Work closely with project managers, owners, architects, and other project stakeholders.
Identify potential project challenges and proactively develop solutions.
Monitor jobsite progress and provide regular updates on project status.
Maintain organized jobsite documentation, reports, and daily logs.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Construction Superintendent with a commercial general contractor.
Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, and project execution.
Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of construction scheduling, jobsite safety, and quality control.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage project priorities and maintain a productive jobsite environment.
