An established, highly respected logistics and truckload brokerage organization is seeking an experienced Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) to lead its customs brokerage operations supporting commercial freight moving across the U.S.–Mexico border.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on customs brokerage professional who combines technical expertise, operational leadership, and a thorough understanding of cross-border trucking.
The ideal candidate understands what it takes to move commercial truckload freight across the border efficiently, accurately, and in full compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requirements.
Lead customs brokerage operations supporting U.S.–Mexico land-border crossings and inland ports.
Serve as the licensed customs brokerage expert responsible for regulatory compliance and entry accuracy.
Oversee customs entry preparation and filing through ACE/ABI.
Ensure proper HTS classification, customs valuation, country-of-origin determination, and Partner Government Agency (PGA) compliance.
Respond to CBP inquiries, support audits, and maintain accurate customs records.
Lead, coach, and develop customs brokerage personnel.
Collaborate with trucking, logistics, sales, and operations teams to support customers and resolve cross-border challenges.
Monitor regulatory changes, tariffs, and customs requirements while advising internal teams and customers.
Required Qualifications
Active U.S. CBP Licensed Customs Broker license — mandatory.
Direct experience with U.S.–Mexico land-border customs brokerage and commercial truckload entries.
Proven experience preparing, reviewing, or supervising customs entries through ACE/ABI.
Strong knowledge of HTS classification, customs valuation, origin, and PGA requirements.
Experience with CBP compliance, inquiries, audits, and recordkeeping.
Working knowledge of cross-border trucking and freight operations.
Ability to lead customs brokerage activities and support team performance.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous customs brokerage management or supervisory experience.
Experience supporting high-volume commercial truckload entries.
Familiarity with border operations in El Paso, McAllen, Calexico, Houston, or other major U.S.–Mexico trade corridors.
Strong communication, customer relationship, and problem-solving skills.
Important: This position requires direct experience with U.S.–Mexico land-border truckload customs entries. Candidates whose customs brokerage experience is limited to airfreight or ocean freight will not meet the core requirements.
Competitive compensation: $90,000–$150,000, depending on experience.
Remote flexibility with an established logistics organization.
Opportunity to lead a critical customs brokerage function.
Direct impact on cross-border freight operations, regulatory compliance, and customer success.
Work alongside experienced logistics and transportation professionals.
Leadership responsibilities with an established organization operating in an essential international trade market.
If you're an actively licensed U.S. Customs Broker with hands-on experience handling commercial truckload entries across the U.S.–Mexico border, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
