Overview

We are working with a well-established plaintiffs’ practice seeking an experienced Asbestos Trust & Bankruptcy Attorney to handle asbestos bankruptcy trust claims nationwide. This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys technical, detail-oriented work and wants to focus on trust administration, claims strategy, and maximizing recoveries for clients—without heavy trial demands.

The position offers long-term stability, autonomy, and the opportunity to work with a high-volume, sophisticated asbestos practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, file, and manage asbestos bankruptcy trust claims across multiple trusts

  • Analyze exposure histories, medical records, and employment documentation to support claims

  • Develop trust claim strategies to maximize client recoveries

  • Coordinate trust submissions with underlying asbestos litigation when applicable

  • Track trust audits, deficiency notices, and appeals

  • Stay current on trust distribution procedures (TDPs) and evolving trust requirements

  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and intake teams as needed

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school

  • Active bar license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (multi-state a plus)

  • 3+ years of experience handling asbestos trust fund claims and/or asbestos bankruptcy matters

  • Strong understanding of asbestos bankruptcy trusts and claims procedures

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage a high volume of claims independently

  • Experience with trust auditing and appeals is a plus
