HR Manager – Food Manufacturing
Green County, WI (South of Madison)
$80,000 – $90,000 + Strong Benefits
A well-established, expanding food manufacturer in Green County, WI is seeking a hands-on, visible HR Manager to lead human resources operations at a single-site production facility.
This company has been in business for over 40 years and continues to grow. They are looking for a true partner to plant leadership — someone who thrives on the production floor, builds strong supervisor relationships, strengthens culture, and drives measurable improvements in engagement and retention.
This is not a sit-behind-the-desk HR role. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys coaching, problem-solving, and being deeply embedded in operations.
The HR Manager will oversee all aspects of HR at the facility including employee relations, compliance, recruiting, workforce planning, and leadership development. This individual will work closely with plant leadership to support business objectives while cultivating a strong, positive workplace culture.
• Lead employee relations, performance management, and supervisor coaching
• Serve as a strategic partner to plant leadership and department managers
• Guide supervisors through investigations, conflict resolution, and progressive discipline
• Oversee recruiting, onboarding, and workforce planning initiatives
• Drive engagement, retention, and culture-building programs
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
• Manage HR reporting, documentation, and benefits coordination
• Promote a positive, inclusive, safety-focused work environment
• 3+ years of HR leadership experience in manufacturing (food manufacturing preferred)
• Strong background in employee relations within a fast-paced production environment
• Proven ability to coach and develop frontline supervisors
• Solid understanding of employment law and HR compliance
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) preferred
• Hands-on, emotionally intelligent, visible leadership style
