Job Summary:
Under general direction, plans, directs, and evaluates the operations of three foundries and the Pattern Shop; participates as a member of the executive management team; and performs related duties, as assigned.

Reports to:
Chief Operating Officer

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

• Directs, plans, manages, overseas, and evaluates operations and performance of foundries
• Evaluates production control, scrap rates, productivity, personnel, office, and sales operations
• Oversees sales and office staff
• Interviews and recommends hiring of management personnel
• Directs selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of subordinate personnel
• Selects new foundry sites
• Oversees facility construction and equipment installation
• Recommends and approves cost savings measures
• Prepares and controls foundry budgets
• Prepares price quotes for all castings and outside customers
• Directs customer relations and resolves technical problems
• Controls and approves quality and statistical measurement and reporting practices
• Manages office support functions
• Prepares employee development plans and reviews and approves personnel performance evaluations
• Approves all foundry expenditures and equipment acquisitions.
• Regular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position
• Fully comply with and enforce company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations.

QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES
-Any combination equivalent of, but not limited to, the following:
Experience/Training/Education
:Extensive experience in foundry management, metallurgical principles, quality control processes, and statistical measurement processes; thorough experience in the management, supervision, and evaluation of foundry personnel; training in hazards, risks assessment, and emergency response procedures and safety practices; considerable experience in ferrous and non-ferrous foundry production; experience in sales and marketing of castings. Educational attainment equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in mineralogy, chemistry, or a related field supplemented by management courses.

Skills/Abilities:
• Extensive knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous foundry production operations
• Considerable knowledge of management theory, principles, and practices
• Thorough knowledge of supervisory principles and motivational techniques
• Extensive knowledge of materials and production costing
• Considerable knowledge of budgeting practices
• Considerable knowledge of quality control practices and statistical measurement processes
• Able to learn to operate a computer and applicable software programs
• Knowledge of marketing and sales principles and technique
• Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, supervision, and department representatives
• Knowledge of company personnel policy and procedures
• Able to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing
• Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
• Able to direct operations, assign work to supervision, and delegate responsibility
• Able to prepare and present management reports
• Able to evaluate effectiveness of foundry operations and recommend measures to increase productivity and raise quality and profit levels.

Physical Requirements:
• Able to bend, stoop, reach, stretch, lift, move, and carry objects and materials weighing 50 pounds or less; able to walk to different areas for inspection purposes; and able to operate a motor vehicle.
