HVAC/R Project Manager Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced HVAC/R Project Manager to lead commercial mechanical construction projects from pre-construction through project completion. This role is responsible for managing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, equipment procurement, labor coordination, and customer relationships while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial HVAC/R installation projects from kickoff to closeout
- Coordinate project schedules, manpower, materials, and equipment
- Review project scope, contracts, RFIs, and change orders
- Track project budgets, labor productivity, and overall financial performance
- Collaborate with field teams, subcontractors, general contractors, and customers
- Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and code requirements
- Provide project updates and maintain strong client relationships
- Support successful project startup, commissioning, and closeout documentation
Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management experience in commercial HVAC, mechanical contracting, or construction
- Proven experience managing installation crews and multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, and cost control
- Experience with RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar project management software
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Journeyman License, or PMP certification preferred
