About the Role

A well-established general contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with a strong background in ground-up healthcare construction. This individual will lead all aspects of project delivery—from preconstruction through closeout—ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives are consistently met.

The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with deep construction knowledge, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to drive collaboration among owners, architects, engineers, and field teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Direct and oversee all phases of construction alongside the Superintendent.

  • Define team roles and responsibilities, promote teamwork, and conduct effective meetings (OAC, subcontractor, and internal).

  • Anticipate and resolve project challenges with a proactive, solutions-driven approach.

Construction Management

  • Review and interpret all contract documents, drawings, and specifications to guide construction activities.

  • Develop project-specific logistics plans and construction sequencing.

  • Oversee procurement, submittals, and material deliveries to meet schedule milestones.

  • Establish and monitor project controls to maintain progress and quality standards.

Quality & Safety

  • Implement and manage project QA/QC programs and site-specific safety plans.

  • Partner with field leadership to ensure all safety and quality objectives are achieved.

  • Ensure compliance with testing, inspection, and corrective actions.

Scheduling & Planning

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and procurement timelines.

  • Identify opportunities to optimize sequencing and accelerate project delivery.

  • Coordinate with the Superintendent and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project milestones.

Financial Management

  • Manage overall project financials including budget, cost tracking, forecasting, and cash flow.

  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices, purchase orders, and owner pay applications.

  • Lead the change management process including pricing, documentation, and negotiation.

Risk Management

  • Identify, document, and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Ensure all required bonds, insurance certificates, and permits are maintained.

  • Manage project documentation and correspondence in compliance with contract requirements.

Client Relations & Business Development

  • Foster strong relationships with owners, architects, and consultants.

  • Represent the company professionally in meetings and presentations.

  • Seek opportunities for repeat and future business through successful project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Experience: 5–10+ years of progressive project management experience in commercial construction, preferably with healthcare or institutional projects.

  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, scheduling, and project management software.

    • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

    • Ability to manage complex projects, multiple priorities, and tight deadlines.

    • Deep understanding of construction means and methods, building codes, and safety standards.
