Electrical Project Engineer – Mission Critical / Data Center Construction

Location: 100% Travel (Nationwide) Job Type: Full-Time Industry: Electrical Construction | Mission Critical | Data Centers

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support large-scale Mission Critical and Data Center construction projects across the United States. This role will assist Project Managers and field leadership teams with project coordination, documentation, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor communication, and overall project execution.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting ground-up electrical construction projects, understands commercial electrical systems, and can effectively coordinate between field teams, vendors, engineers, general contractors, and project stakeholders. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project coordination and execution.
  • Assist with managing electrical construction activities from project start through completion.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project correspondence.
  • Assist with project scheduling, tracking milestones, and monitoring progress.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, logs, and records.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, engineers, and General Contractors.
  • Assist with material procurement, tracking deliveries, and managing equipment requirements.
  • Support field teams by identifying potential issues and helping develop solutions.
  • Participate in project meetings, progress updates, and coordination discussions.
  • Assist with quality control efforts to ensure installations meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • Support commissioning, startup, testing, and project turnover activities.
  • Review construction drawings and coordinate updates with field teams.
  • Track project costs, labor progress, and material usage.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards, NEC requirements, and project procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in electrical construction, project engineering, or construction management.
  • Experience supporting commercial, industrial, or mission critical electrical projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction processes, and project documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, schematics, and specifications.
  • Experience coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and construction teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Willingness to travel 100% nationwide.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Mission Critical, Data Center, or Industrial Construction.
  • Electrical engineering degree or construction management background.
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, BIM, AutoCAD, or similar construction software.
  • Knowledge of NEC standards and electrical construction practices.
  • Experience with commissioning, startup, and turnover documentation.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • NFPA 70E Certification.
  • Journeyman Electrician background or field electrical experience.

Travel Requirements

  • 100% nationwide travel is required.
  • Must be willing to work extended schedules, including overtime, weekends, and rotational assignments as project requirements demand.
  • Travel accommodations and per diem provided in accordance with company policy.
