Job Snapshot

Job Description

CONFIDENTIAL | COMMERCIAL LITIGATION ATTORNEY
Manhattan Beach, CA | Fully Remote Option

I’m working with a highly respected boutique litigation firm that is looking to add a talented Commercial Litigation Attorney to its growing team.

This is not your typical commercial litigation practice. The firm handles a diverse mix of sophisticated matters for some seriously recognizable clients, including major technology, entertainment, consumer, transportation and professional sports organizations.

The Practice

  • Complex commercial litigation with a diverse mix of cases and clients
  • State and federal court matters
  • Arbitrations and occasional trials
  • Significant motion practice, discovery, depositions and case strategy
  • California Proposition 65 regulatory litigation/compliance — a unique niche within the practice
  • Approximately 10–25% entertainment-related work, depending on demand, with significant growth expected in this area
  • Opportunity to work directly with sophisticated clients and take meaningful ownership of matters

Who They're Looking For

  • 3–7 years of litigation experience preferred
  • Top 30 law school and/or Big Law experience strongly preferred
  • Strong background in complex commercial litigation
  • Excellent writing, research and analytical skills
  • Someone who can independently manage substantive litigation work
  • Not looking for someone who is still very green — this team needs an attorney who can jump in and contribute
  • Must be admitted in California

The Culture

This is one of the biggest selling points.

The team is smart, collaborative, and genuinely enjoyable to work with. There is no micromanaging, and attorneys are trusted to do their jobs — but communication and responsiveness matter. You won't have someone constantly checking in on you, but you also can't disappear for a week.

The expectation is simple: be smart, work hard, communicate, and be willing to help wherever needed.

Everyone on the team pitches in. If discovery needs to get done, you do discovery. There isn't an attitude of "that's not my job" or "I don't do that."

The firm also places a real emphasis on work-life balance. One of the firm's Partners has worked remotely for 10+ years and is happy to mentor and support newer team members. She regularly turns off her work alerts on her phone during the evenings and weekends and typically works only a couple of weekends a year.

People rarely leave this team, but if they do. It's never on bad terms — and that's intentional.

Location & Compensation

📍 Beautiful Manhattan Beach office available
🏠 Fully remote option available
💰 Competitive compensation based on experience

If you're a strong commercial litigator looking for interesting clients, sophisticated work, autonomy, mentorship, and a genuinely healthy work environment, this is one worth having a conversation about.
