Superintendent - Civil/Wastewater

Company Overview:
A well-established heavy civil contractor in the Akron market is looking for a Superintendent to oversee field operations on wastewater and water treatment construction projects. This company is recognized for successfully delivering municipal infrastructure work such as treatment plants, pump stations, and underground utilities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
Responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout
Coordinate crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials to keep work progressing on schedule
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications
Work closely with Project Managers to maintain budgets and schedules
Conduct site meetings, inspections, and progress reporting
Identify and resolve field issues quickly to avoid delays
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration among the field team
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Superintendent on heavy civil projects, preferably in wastewater or water treatment plant construction
Strong understanding of site work, concrete, piping, and process equipment installation
Ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors on complex job sites
Knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety best practices
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience with construction scheduling and documentation software preferred
