Commercial Door Technician

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Door Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for the installation, service, and repair of commercial overhead doors, roll-up doors, operators, and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and a strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

Job Type: Full Time, On-site

Responsibilities for the Commercial Door Technician:

  • Install, maintain, and repair commercial garage doors, rolling steel doors, fire-rated doors, and related hardware.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and structural issues to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and adjustments on door systems and operators.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work orders.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients regarding work performed, recommendations, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and documentation of completed work.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols, OSHA standards, and manufacturer guidelines.

 

Requirements of the Commercial Door Technician:

  • 2+ years of experience in commercial door installation, service, or related trades preferred.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • Willingness to work overtime, on-call shifts, or emergency service as needed.
  • Physical ability to lift 75+ lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights.
  • Knowledge of welding, electrical wiring, or construction is a plus.
