Job Description

A growing agriculture company is hiring a Regional Account Manager to build and grow the Southern California territory. This is a fully remote direct to distributor sales role focused on developing new business, managing relationships, and driving revenue within the agriculture fertility sector. The primary role of the Regional Account Manager is to promote the use and sale of company products in defined agriculture markets. The territory will cover the Inland Empire to the CA/AZ border. The company offers a very completive base salary and an aggressive commission structure. Candidates with established relationships with agricultural wholesalers and distributers in the territory will be prioritized.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Call on wholesale distributors, and agriculture retailers
  • Leverage current grower and distributor relationships to close new business for company products
  • Conduct high impact farm visits and customer meetings
  • Present solutions based on crop and grower needs
  • Manage pipeline and sales activity
  • Utilize the company Agronomist as a expert resource to help drive sales
  • Attend industry functions, events and trade shows
  • Track and enter all new and existing account activity into the CRM system
  • Participate in weekly 1:1 meeting with manager to discuss weekly activity, monthly and quarterly goals

Key Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of B2B agricultural sales experience
  • A solid understanding of the different grow protocols and terminology used within the Ag industry
  • Current relationships with growers and distributors in some or all identified geographic markets
  • A demonstrated record of quota achievement
  • Self-starter able successfully operate with limited management supervision
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to succeed in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment with drive to solve problems
  • Competent use and understanding of Microsoft Office, and CRM software
  • Always maintain the highest level of professionalism
  • Able to travel throughout the Imperial and Coachella Valley’s, North San Diego County, and Inland Empire
  • Must currently reside in Southern California and have a valid U.S. driver’s license

Highly Preferred:

  • A background or degree in agronomy, plant science, or horticulture or experience in farming or in a grow facility
  • Certified Crop Advisor
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
