Tax Manager
Location: Nashville, TN
Overview
A large national assurance, tax and advisory CPA firm is seeking a Tax Manager for its core tax services team in Nashville, Tennessee (hybrid, about 2-3 days per week in office). You will manage clients' tax compliance needs, anticipate tax and business issues, recognize tax planning opportunities, serve as the main point of contact for clients, and train and develop less experienced staff.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients in industries such as technology, healthcare and life sciences, industrial manufacturing, professional services, real estate and construction, and private equity
- Manage tax engagements from planning through delivery, overseeing timelines, budgets and client communications
- Review complex corporate, partnership and individual tax returns, including tax provision engagements
- Identify tax planning opportunities and help clients address evolving business and tax issues
- Lead and develop tax staff and seniors through coaching, mentoring and technical review
- Collaborate with colleagues across service lines to deliver integrated solutions
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive, high-quality service
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting; master's in taxation or accounting preferred
- Active CPA license required
- Public accounting experience with progressive responsibility managing tax engagements and client relationships
- Strong experience with C corporation taxation and tax compliance
- Working knowledge of partnership taxation, including partnership equity investments
- Strong project management, communication and client service skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop team members
- Experience with ASC 740 and tax provision engagements preferred
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)
