Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a full-time Medical Director to lead and oversee operations for a high-performing clinical laboratory in Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for a board-certified physician with expertise in pathology—ideally with dermatopathology experience—to take on a key leadership role within a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide medical and scientific oversight of laboratory operations
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards (CLIA, CAP, etc.)
• Review, interpret, and sign out laboratory results as needed
• Collaborate with laboratory staff, clinicians, and executive leadership
• Maintain and improve quality assurance and performance standards
• Serve as a resource for test utilization, validation, and clinical consultation

Qualifications:

• MD or DO with board certification in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology
• Dermatopathology fellowship or significant dermpath experience strongly preferred
• Active Texas medical license (or ability to obtain)
• Prior laboratory leadership or directorship experience preferred
• Strong communication and leadership skills
