Position Overview

The Director of Nursing provides leadership for all clinical operations while ensuring residents receive exceptional, individualized care. This role is responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, overseeing nursing staff, improving clinical quality, and partnering with the leadership team to support organizational goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the nursing department's daily operations.
  • Develop and update clinical policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Oversee Assisted Living and Memory Care clinical services.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, department budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing personnel.
  • Ensure accurate resident assessments, care plans, MDS documentation, and clinical records.
  • Monitor quality measures and implement performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to enhance resident outcomes.
  • Promote a positive culture centered on teamwork, accountability, and exceptional customer service.
  • Participate in leadership meetings and organizational planning initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; equivalent leadership experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing leadership experience.
  • Experience managing clinical operations, staffing, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • At least two (2) years of experience serving older adults.
  • Previous experience in senior living, assisted living, memory care, long-term care, or gerontology is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
