Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Plumbing Detailer with Revit experience to develop accurate, coordinated drawings and 3D models for commercial plumbing projects. This position works closely with project managers, estimators, engineers, BIM personnel, and field teams to ensure plumbing systems are constructible, coordinated, and ready for installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed plumbing drawings and 3D BIM models using Revit.
- Create layouts for domestic water, sanitary, storm, gas, and other commercial plumbing systems.
- Interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and plumbing plans and specifications.
- Coordinate plumbing systems with HVAC, electrical, structural, and architectural trades.
- Participate in BIM coordination, clash detection, and resolution using Revit and Navisworks.
- Prepare accurate fabrication and installation drawings for field and prefabrication teams.
- Review designs for constructability, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
- Incorporate RFIs, design changes, field conditions, and change orders into drawings.
- Communicate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and field personnel to resolve design and coordination issues.
- Maintain organized project files, drawing standards, and revision documentation.
- Assist with field verification and provide updated drawings when existing conditions differ from design documents.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of plumbing detailing, BIM, mechanical drafting, or related commercial construction experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Revit is required.
- Experience with Navisworks and BIM coordination preferred.
- Strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems, including sanitary, storm, domestic water, and gas piping.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and plumbing drawings.
- Knowledge of plumbing codes, industry standards, and construction practices.
- Experience with commercial plumbing fabrication or field installation is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, constructible drawings.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
