A well-regarded law firm in Sacramento is hiring a Public Agency Attorney with 5+ years of municipal law experience. You'd advise cities, special districts, and other public agencies on a wide range of governance and regulatory matters. The hybrid role comes with high-impact public sector work and a collaborative team.
What you'll do
- Advise public agency clients on municipal law, governance, and regulatory issues
- Counsel on the Brown Act, the Public Records Act, conflicts of interest, and ethics rules
- Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and staff reports
- Attend and advise at city council, board, and commission meetings
- Handle land use, public contracting, and related matters as needed
What you'll bring
- Active California State Bar license in good standing
- 5+ years of municipal or public agency law experience
- Strong writing, analytical, and public speaking skills
- Polished client presence and sound judgment with elected officials and staff
