As an Employee Benefits Account Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting clients and helping them navigate the day-to-day complexities of group benefits. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality service, managing renewals, and building strong relationships with both clients and carrier partners.
In this role, you will:
Manage a dedicated book of Employee Benefits clients, ensuring their needs are handled accurately and proactively.
Provide day-to-day client support, including eligibility changes, enrollments, plan questions, and issue resolution.
Lead the renewal process by gathering data, preparing market submissions, reviewing quotes, and presenting recommendations.
Support producers with new business opportunities, proposals, and client presentations.
Work closely with carriers to secure competitive benefit solutions and resolve service issues.
Maintain accurate and detailed records within the agency management system.
Educate clients on plan options, compliance requirements, enrollment processes, and available technology tools.
Assist with open enrollment planning and coordination, including communications, materials, and meetings.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and a strong ongoing client experience.
Stay current on industry trends, compliance updates, and product changes.
Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the benefits team.
What we’re looking for:
3+ years of experience in Employee Benefits account management or a related insurance role.
Active Minnesota Life & Health license.
Solid knowledge of medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits.
Experience with agency management systems (Applied Epic strongly preferred).
Strong communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
A problem-solving mindset with a strong focus on client service.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort using benefits technology platforms.
