Job Title: Family Law Lawyer

About the opportunity:

Our client is seeking a 5+year call family law lawyer to work with clients to provide legal advice, guidance and representation in a variety of issues, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, property division, prenuptial agreements, adoption, and domestic violence. 

What you will be doing:

• Providing legal advice to clients and explaining their rights and obligations according to family law.

• Drafting legal documents, such as divorce petitions, custody agreements, and prenuptial agreements.

• Negotiating with opposing counsel to reach a settlement in the best interest of their client.

• Representing clients in court and presenting evidence to support their case.

• Conducting legal research to stay up-to-date with changes in family law and using this knowledge to advise clients.

• Collaborating with other professionals such as mediators, therapists, and financial advisers to help clients navigate through difficult and complex family law matters.

What you will bring:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or LLB degree and are licensed to practice law in Alberta and are in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and judges.
• Must also possess excellent analytical and interpersonal skills along with time-management and organizational skills needed to manage a heavy workload while providing high-quality legal representation.
• Ideally part of a Collaborative Association
• Lead a growing team of family lawyers
• Enjoys mentorship
