Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Part-Time Oral Surgeon to join our dental team in Staunton, VA. The ideal candidate will have expertise in performing surgical procedures related to the mouth, teeth, and jaw, including extractions, dental implants, and corrective jaw surgeries. This is a great opportunity for an experienced oral surgeon looking to work in a collaborative, patient-centered practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform oral surgeries such as tooth extractions (including impacted wisdom teeth), dental implants, and soft tissue surgeries.
  • Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and defects of the oral and maxillofacial regions.
  • Work closely with dental assistants, hygienists, and office staff to provide excellent patient care.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout procedures.
  • Consult with patients to discuss treatment options, surgical procedures, and aftercare.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and best practices in oral surgery.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development as required.

Qualifications:

  • DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.
  • Completion of a recognized oral surgery residency program.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in oral and maxillofacial surgery (preferred).
  • Active Virginia state dental license.
  • Strong surgical skills and the ability to manage complex dental cases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused attitude.
