We have an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate to step into this Director of Nursing(DON) roll for our Long Term Care Facility.  Come play a crucial leadership role in overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care within our healthcare facility. This position requires a dedicated professional with extensive experience in nursing administration, who can effectively manage nursing operations, maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, and foster a collaborative environment among staff. The DON will be responsible for developing policies and procedures that enhance patient care, while also providing guidance and support to nursing personnel.

DUTIES

  • Oversee daily nursing operations to ensure efficient and effective patient care delivery.
  • Manage shift schedules and staffing levels to meet the needs of patients.
  • Supervise nursing staff, providing mentorship and support for professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding nursing practices.
  • Review medical records and documentation to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for patients.
  • Conduct regular assessments of patient care practices and implement necessary changes.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends in hospice care, nursing home management, and healthcare systems.

SKILLS

  • Strong shift management capabilities to ensure adequate staffing and resource allocation.
  • Experience in hospice care settings is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to supervise diverse nursing teams effectively.
  • Familiarity with nursing home operations and regulations.
  • Proficient in managing medical records and ensuring proper documentation review processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of nursing administration principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Solid understanding of physiology to inform patient care decisions.
