Superintendent – Healthcare Construction

Well-Established General Contractor | Chicago

A highly respected commercial general contractor in Chicago is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on healthcare construction projects. This company is known for delivering complex projects in active medical environments and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations on healthcare construction projects

• Manage subcontractors and enforce quality standards

• Maintain and drive project schedules to meet deadlines

• Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with healthcare and building requirements

• Enforce OSHA and jobsite safety standards

• Work closely with Project Managers to track progress and resolve field issues

• Lead subcontractor meetings and site coordination efforts

• Ensure projects remain aligned with construction documents and client expectations

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction

• Healthcare construction experience strongly preferred (hospital renovations, medical office build-outs, or ground-up facilities)

• Experience working in occupied or active environments is a plus

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications

• Proven ability to manage schedules and coordinate multiple trades

• Proficiency with construction management software (Procore or similar preferred)
