Assistant Project Manager – Healthcare Construction

A highly respected and well-known commercial general contractor in Chicago is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support their growing healthcare construction portfolio. This company has a strong reputation for delivering complex medical projects and maintaining long-term relationships with healthcare clients across the region.
This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced project teams on renovations, build-outs, and ground-up healthcare facilities while developing strong technical and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination and documentation
Support budgeting, cost tracking, and change order management
Help manage RFIs, submittals, and project logs
Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and field teams
Assist in maintaining project schedules and tracking milestones
Participate in project meetings and maintain meeting notes
Support procurement and material tracking
Assist with project closeout documentation
2–5 years of experience in commercial construction (healthcare experience preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
Understanding of construction documents and project workflows
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience with project management software such as Procore or similar platforms
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
