A well-established Iowa law firm is looking to add an attorney to its banking, commercial finance and creditors’ rights practice. This is a great opportunity for an attorney who has experience in at least one of these areas and wants to continue building a broader business and financial services practice.

What you’ll do

  • Represent banks, lenders and other financial institutions on a variety of commercial matters
  • Assist with commercial lending and finance transactions
  • Draft and review loan documents, security agreements and related agreements
  • Handle creditors’ rights matters, including loan defaults, collections and enforcement
  • Assist with workouts, restructurings and other distressed-credit situations
  • Handle bankruptcy and related litigation matters as they arise
  • Research and analyze complex legal and business issues
  • Work directly with clients and other attorneys on sophisticated matters
  • Take increasing responsibility for matters as your experience grows

What we’re looking for

  • Attorney licensed in Iowa
  • Experience in banking, commercial finance, creditors’ rights, bankruptcy or related commercial practice
  • Experience in multiple areas is a plus
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills
  • Strong judgment and attention to detail
  • Clear, professional communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
