A well-established Iowa law firm is looking to add an attorney to its banking, commercial finance and creditors’ rights practice. This is a great opportunity for an attorney who has experience in at least one of these areas and wants to continue building a broader business and financial services practice.
What you’ll do
- Represent banks, lenders and other financial institutions on a variety of commercial matters
- Assist with commercial lending and finance transactions
- Draft and review loan documents, security agreements and related agreements
- Handle creditors’ rights matters, including loan defaults, collections and enforcement
- Assist with workouts, restructurings and other distressed-credit situations
- Handle bankruptcy and related litigation matters as they arise
- Research and analyze complex legal and business issues
- Work directly with clients and other attorneys on sophisticated matters
- Take increasing responsibility for matters as your experience grows
What we’re looking for
- Attorney licensed in Iowa
- Experience in banking, commercial finance, creditors’ rights, bankruptcy or related commercial practice
- Experience in multiple areas is a plus
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent legal research and writing skills
- Strong judgment and attention to detail
- Clear, professional communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
