Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Banking & Finance Attorney to join our firm! 

This position is ideal for an attorney with a passion for financial law and experience advising clients on a range of banking, finance, and regulatory matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal counsel to banks, financial institutions, and corporate clients on complex financial transactions and related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise and represent clients in banking and finance transactions, including lending, acquisitions, and regulatory compliance.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements, credit facilities, and related financial documents.
  • Provide guidance on regulatory matters, including Dodd-Frank Act, RESPA, and state banking laws.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on the latest developments in financial regulations and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify legal risks and provide practical solutions.
  • Support senior attorneys in managing complex commercial and finance matters.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, memoranda, and other legal documents.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Missouri State Bar, Kansas State bar is a plus! 
  • 2+ years of experience in banking, finance, or corporate law.
  • Strong understanding of financial services regulations and lending practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and drafting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with syndicated lending, commercial real estate finance, or structured finance transactions.
  • Familiarity with federal and state banking regulations.
  • Prior experience working in a law firm or corporate legal department focused on banking and finance law.
