Heavy Civil Equipment Mechanic

Miami, FL | Multiple Openings | Full-Time

One of our clients is in need of multiple experienced Heavy Civil Equipment Mechanics to join their team in the Miami, Florida area.

This is an opportunity to join a very well-established heavy civil contractor with operations and projects throughout the East Coast. We’re looking for experienced mechanics who know heavy construction equipment inside and out, with experience working on drilling and/or pile driving machinery highly desired.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy construction equipment

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components

  • Work on heavy civil equipment including excavators, loaders, cranes, drilling equipment, pile driving equipment, and other specialized machinery

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues in both shop and field environments

  • Perform inspections and identify repairs before equipment failures impact project operations

  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records

  • Work closely with field crews and operations teams to minimize downtime and keep equipment running safely and efficiently

  • Follow company and jobsite safety procedures at all times

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a heavy equipment/heavy machinery mechanic

  • Mechanic certification or equivalent industry training/credentials

  • Heavy civil construction or heavy equipment industry experience strongly preferred

  • Experience repairing and maintaining drilling and/or pile driving machinery is highly desired

  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment diagnostics

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues independently

  • Experience with heavy equipment manufacturers such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Liebherr, Soilmec, Bauer, or similar equipment is a plus

  • Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic information

  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to work safely in shop and field/jobsite environments

  • Dependable, mechanically minded, and comfortable working in a fast-paced heavy construction environment
