Job Description

As a Conflicts Attorney, you will play a key role in reviewing and resolving conflicts of interest that arise in connection with new client engagements. You will be responsible for analyzing and addressing potential conflicts, liaising with attorneys and staff, and ensuring that our firm complies with ethical rules and guidelines. You will also assist with conflict-related matters across multiple practice groups and jurisdictions.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform conflicts checks for new clients and matters, utilizing conflict management software and internal databases.
  • Analyze and resolve potential conflicts of interest, collaborating with attorneys and partners.
  • Advise on ethical considerations related to client engagements and potential conflicts.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable bar rules, including Missouri and Kansas ethical guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of conflicts-related decisions and resolutions.
  • Collaborate with other legal teams to support firm-wide initiatives and provide guidance on conflicts-related matters.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior staff and attorneys on conflicts-related issues.

Requirements:

  • Licensure: Active membership in the Missouri Bar (required); Kansas Bar membership is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in conflict management or related legal practice areas.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of conflicts of interest, ethical rules, and the ability to work independently.
  • Software: Familiarity with conflicts management software and case management tools.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with attorneys, clients, and staff.
