Position Overview

A respected St. Louis litigation firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate with 3–6 years of relevant experience to join its business litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who brings strong analytical skills, well-developed writing abilities, and practical litigation experience.

The role focuses heavily on hands-on litigation work, including motion practice, written discovery, research, and case strategy. Deposition experience is a plus but not required. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, exercises sound judgment, and can work both independently and collaboratively. Candidates should also have the desire to take on increasing responsibilities, including trial work and appeals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Handle commercial/business litigation matters in state and/or federal courts

  • Draft and respond to motions, briefs, and written discovery

  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategy

  • Collaborate with partners and team members on case progression

  • Take on expanded responsibilities over time, including trial and appellate work


Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school

  • Must be licensed to practice in Missouri (additional jurisdictions a plus)

  • 3–6 years of experience in business or commercial litigation

  • Strong writing, analytical, and research skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage deadlines and work independently

  • Desire for long-term growth within the firm
