Miscellaneous Metals Detailer
Job Description
We are seeking a Miscellaneous Metals Detailer to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a detailer with 3-5+ years of experience producing shop drawings and fabrication details for miscellaneous metals projects, including stairs, railings, ladders, platforms, canopies, ornamental metals, and other custom fabricated steel components.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fabrication and installation practices, the ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings, and experience coordinating with project managers, engineers, and shop personnel to ensure accurate and efficient production.
Responsibilities
- Produce detailed shop and erection drawings for miscellaneous metals projects.
- Create fabrication drawings for stairs, railings, ladders, platforms, canopies, ornamental metals, and other custom steel components.
- Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and fabrication teams.
- Prepare material lists and bills of materials for fabrication.
- Revise drawings based on field measurements, RFIs, submittals, and engineer comments.
- Ensure drawings comply with project specifications and industry standards.
- Support fabrication and field installation by providing timely drawing revisions and technical assistance.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of detailing experience in miscellaneous metals or structural steel.
- Proficiency with SDS/2 is required; experience with Advance Steel is a plus.
- Strong understanding of miscellaneous metals fabrication and installation.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Knowledge of shop fabrication practices and construction sequencing.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects.
