Project Safety Supervisor

(Structural Steel Erection)

A highly-respected Steel Fabricator and Erector is seeking a Project Safety Supervisor to join their team. I am working with a company that are responsible for fabricating work throughout the pacific northwest from Alaska to Hawaii. Their main markets include the commercial, industrial, aerospace, and entertainment industries. They have not only quickly became the go to name in steel fabrication and erection working with some of the worlds most recognizable brands, They have received numerous quality, performance, and safety awards doing so. You'd be responsible for safety for steel projects anywhere from $500k-$50M range.

The Project Safety Supervisor assists the field project team with safety plans, safety inspections, safety compliance, and accident investigations for assigned project(s).

Typical responsibilities may include facilitating orientations, completing safety plans, coordinating safety training, completing safety inspections, documenting and investigating accidents and injuries, and other misc. field safety tasks. Additional responsibilities as required on a project-by-project basis as directed by the Field Safety Manager.

The Project Safety Supervisor will work primarily at the assigned jobsite and is an extension of the main office.

Project Safety Supervisor Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in field construction and field safety
  • First Aid/CPR trained
  • OSHA 30
  • Knowledge of rigging, fall protection, and crane operations
  • Knowledge of DOSH/OSHA regulations
  • Able to manage multiple, competing priorities in a deadline driven environment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence supervisors, peers, and external partners
  • Computer skills with multiple systems (Word, Excel, Bluebeam, etc.)

Project Safety Supervisor Responsibilities:

The Project Safety Supervisor is responsible for all the items listed below for the assigned project(s).

  • Assist in completing and maintaining safety forms
  • Site specific safety plan
  • Site specific fall protection work plan
  • Job hazard analysis
  • Site specific fall rescue plan
  • Silica control plan (if applicable)
  • Assist in completing any safety documentation required from the general contractor
  • Coordinate any project specific training
  • Conduct and document weekly jobsite inspections
  • Ensure weekly safety trainings are being completed and documented
  • Ensure compliance of safety standards
  • Assist in documenting and disciplining employees who fail to comply with minimum safety standards (Safety violations)
  • Complete accident/injury paperwork and investigations
  • Incident report
  • Employee’s report of injury
  • Witness statement
  • Injury investigation
  • Equipment & property damage report
  • Coordinate completion and documentation of inspections
  • Equipment (Scissor lift, aerial lift, forklift, etc.)
