We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Insurance Coverage Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join our growing team in Kansas City. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in insurance coverage analysis, litigation, and dispute resolution. This position offers the opportunity to work with leading industry professionals on high-profile cases, providing strategic legal guidance to clients in the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel on insurance coverage issues, including policy interpretation and dispute resolution.
- Represent clients in complex insurance litigation matters, including bad faith claims, declaratory judgment actions, and coverage disputes.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests/responses.
- Communicate directly with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel to resolve coverage issues and disputes.
- Collaborate with team members and senior attorneys to develop case strategies and legal solutions.
- Stay current on developments in insurance law and applicable regulations.
- Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and other alternative dispute resolution methods.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- 3+ years of experience in insurance coverage, with a focus on coverage analysis, policy disputes, and litigation.
- Licensed to practice law in Missouri (required); Kansas licensure is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of insurance law, including policy provisions, exclusions, and claims handling procedures.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to handle complex legal matters and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
