Employee Benefit Consultant 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employee Benefits Consultant to join a dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for selling and advising on a variety of employee benefit insurance products, including health, dental, life, and disability plans. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales acumen, in-depth knowledge of employee benefits, and the ability to build long-term relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Business Development:

    • Generate new business opportunities by identifying and targeting potential clients within various industries.
    • Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers, HR professionals, and business owners to understand their employee benefits needs.
    • Present and sell customized employee benefit insurance solutions to clients, ensuring alignment with their business goals and employee needs.
  • Consultation & Advisory:

    • Analyze client organizations’ existing benefits offerings and recommend improvements or changes to ensure optimal coverage and compliance.
    • Provide expert advice on the most effective employee benefit programs and packages based on client budgets and goals.
    • Stay up to date on industry trends, legislative changes, and new products to provide the most relevant and innovative solutions to clients.
  • Client Relationship Management:

    • Develop and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with clients to foster long-term partnerships.
    • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, managing issues, and ensuring a seamless benefits implementation process.
    • Conduct regular follow-ups with clients to ensure satisfaction and discover new opportunities for additional services.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably within the insurance or employee benefits sector.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits products, including health, dental, life, and disability insurance, and retirement plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage clients effectively.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a consultative selling approach.
  • Ability to assess client needs and recommend tailored benefits solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active health or life insurance license, or other relevant certifications.
  • 3+ years of experience in employee benefits consulting or a similar role.
