About the Opportunity

A growing building materials organization is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to provide expert guidance and outstanding service to in-branch and phone customers. This role is perfect for a motivated, detail-oriented professional who enjoys building relationships, exceeding sales goals, and supporting branch operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers, assess project needs, and provide product guidance and recommendations.

  • Respond to phone inquiries with expert advice and service.

  • Prepare accurate quotes, invoices, and special orders; ensure payment collection and order accuracy.

  • Coordinate with vendors and update customers on order status.

  • Manage deliveries in the Dispatch Delivery Management System (DDMS) to ensure on-time, complete shipments.

  • Support branch operations: product organization, inventory counts, store upkeep, and equipment maintenance.

  • Maintain positive relationships with customers and coworkers.

     

Required Background & Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of sales or customer service experience (building materials experience preferred).

  • Strong communication skills and familiarity with building materials terminology.

  • Detail-oriented, motivated, and customer-focused.

  • Comfortable with POS and delivery software; flexible schedule, including weekends.

  • Reliable transportation to Bridgeport, CT, or willingness to relocate.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $19.00 – $26.00 per hour, plus performance bonus
