The estimating department is a centralized group that prepares HVAC cost proposals and negotiates awards in collaboration with outside sales, engineers, and the operations team. A Successful Estimating Candidate:
- Possesses a team mindset.
- Communicates in a professional manner with co-workers, business partners (vendors and subcontractors) and customers.
- Assists with monitoring the estimating department email account.
- Receives, triages, responds to, and manages customer invitations to bid.
- Conducts site visits to gather information and assess project requirements.
- Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information (bid invitations, deadlines, walkthroughs, etc.) to estimators, customers, and business partners.
- Participates in production of bid/sales collateral and documentation.
- Consistent involvement with communication to customers (both new and existing)
- Assist with project turnover workflow to operations following award.
- Maintains and develops industry knowledge to assist with website management.
- Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Years’ Experience: 2-3 years preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of HVAC systems
- Software Experience Necessary: Microsoft Office Suite Applications
- Software Experience Preferred: Quote Management Software
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage shifting priorities
- High attention to detail
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritize
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure in a fast-paced environment
