Accounts Payable Specialist

A growing construction company is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support project-based financial operations. This role requires prior construction AP experience, including subcontractor pay applications and lien waivers.
What You’ll Do:
Process subcontractor pay applications and vendor invoices
Review and track conditional/unconditional lien waivers
Verify subcontractor compliance (W-9s, COIs, required documentation)
Match invoices to purchase orders and contracts
Coordinate with project managers to resolve billing discrepancies
Prepare check runs and ACH payments
Maintain organized AP records
Assist with month-end close and audit support
What We’re Looking For:
2+ years of construction accounts payable experience
Experience with subcontractor billing and progress payments
Strong understanding of lien waivers
Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Preferred:
Experience with Sage, TimberScan, Procore, or similar construction accounting systems
Knowledge of job cost accounting
