Solicitor – Wills & Estates / Corporate Commercial (3+ Years Call)

A well-established Alberta law firm is seeking a solicitor (3+ years call) to join its growing Calgary practice.

This opportunity is ideal for a lawyer with experience in wills & estates and/or corporate commercial law who is interested in building a long-term solicitor-side practice within a collegial and flexible environment.

The Opportunity

The firm is open to:

• Candidates with an existing book of business

• Lawyers interested in rapidly growing a wills & estates practice through internal referrals and overflow work

• Solicitors looking to broaden or transition their practice within a supportive platform

There is significant opportunity to develop and expand a wills & estates practice, including work currently being referred externally.

While family law exposure could be incorporated if desired, it is not required for this role.

Practice Focus

• Wills & estates

• Estate planning and administration

• Corporate and commercial matters

• Opportunity for additional solicitor-side work depending on interest and background

Key Responsibilities

• Manage solicitor files independently from inception through completion

• Build and maintain strong client relationships

• Draft wills, powers of attorney, corporate documents, and related materials

• Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas as needed

• Contribute to the continued growth of the firm’s solicitor-side practice

Ideal Candidate

• 3+ years of solicitor-side experience

• Background in wills & estates and/or corporate commercial law

• Interest in developing and growing a W&E practice

• Portable book of business is an asset, but not required

• Strong drafting, organization, and client management skills

• Professional, collaborative, and entrepreneurial mindset
