Senior Project Manager – Commercial Construction

A highly respected and steadily growing General Contractor is seeking a Senior Project Manager to take on high-impact commercial projects while also mentoring and supporting multiple Project Managers. This is a leadership-track position for someone who knows how to run jobs, lead teams, and drive process improvements.

Role Overview

This Senior Project Manager will oversee select projects directly while providing guidance and oversight to 2–3 additional Project Managers. The ideal candidate brings strong commercial construction experience, thrives in a leadership role, and is eager to shape the next generation of construction professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of mid- to large-scale commercial projects from start to finish
  • Support and mentor 2–3 Project Managers across active jobs
  • Oversee and implement company project management procedures and standards
  • Review plans, resolve constructability issues, and communicate with design teams
  • Manage contracts, buyout, and subcontractor relationships
  • Drive budget performance, forecasting, billing, and schedule adherence
  • Act as a key client liaison and represent the company professionally on all fronts
  • Partner with leadership to develop operational processes and support long-term growth

Preferred Project Experience

  • Higher education, hospitality, correctional, and general commercial builds
  • Project values ranging from $1M up to $60M
  • Experience in classroom buildings, upscale office spaces, or dormitory-style facilities
  • Candidates with only multi-family experience will not be considered for this role

Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of relevant project management experience in commercial construction
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and teams concurrently
  • Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with tools such as Bluebeam or Procore is a plus (not required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
