Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Loan Officer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, processing, and approving consumer loans for individuals, ensuring excellent customer service while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Loan Origination: Assist clients in selecting the appropriate loan products (personal loans, auto loans, home equity loans, etc.) based on their financial needs and eligibility.
  • Loan Application Processing: Review and analyze loan applications, credit reports, and financial information to determine creditworthiness.
  • Client Interaction: Guide applicants through the loan application process, explain terms, and ensure they understand the loan conditions and repayment options.
  • Approval & Decision Making: Make informed decisions on loan approvals or denials based on established guidelines, credit history, and other relevant factors.
  • Loan Documentation: Ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Customer Service: Provide ongoing support and answer inquiries regarding loan status, payments, and other loan-related concerns.
  • Compliance: Stay updated with industry regulations and ensure that all loan transactions comply with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to foster long-term business opportunities.
  • Cross-Selling: Identify opportunities to cross-sell other financial products and services to customers based on their needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in consumer lending or a similar financial services role (2+ years preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of lending practices, credit analysis, and loan documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and loan processing software.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state lending regulations (e.g., Fair Lending, Truth in Lending, etc.).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with loan underwriting and risk assessment.
  • Bilingual language skills (Spanish or other languages) a plus.
  • Previous experience in a customer service-oriented financial institution.
