Job Title: Truss Designer (MiTek)

Compensation: $70,000 – $95,000 annually, based on experience

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Truss Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of hands-on truss design experience using MiTek software and a strong background designing roof and floor trusses for commercial and multi-family construction projects. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with project managers, engineers, and production teams to deliver accurate, code-compliant designs on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Design roof and floor truss systems using MiTek software in accordance with project specifications, building codes, and engineering standards

• Prepare detailed truss layout drawings, design calculations, and material takeoffs

• Design trusses for commercial and multi-family structures, including complex load conditions and architectural requirements

• Review architectural and structural plans to identify design challenges and coordinate solutions

• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, sales teams, and manufacturing staff to ensure accurate and buildable designs

• Revise truss designs based on feedback, field conditions, or changes to project scope

• Ensure designs meet local, state, and national building codes and industry standards

• Support troubleshooting and problem-solving during fabrication and installation as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of truss design experience

• Proficiency with MiTek truss design software

• Demonstrated experience designing trusses for commercial and multi-family buildings

• Strong understanding of structural concepts, load paths, and applicable building codes

• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working directly with engineers and code officials

• Familiarity with truss manufacturing and installation processes
