Natural Resources/Municipal Attorney Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented attorney with 5+ years of experience to guide and advise public agencies on critical infrastructure, land use, environmental compliance, and more. This is your chance to make a meaningful impact by helping public agencies address some of today’s most complex challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel to elected boards of local special districts operating essential infrastructure and community services, including water, sewer, utilities, and land use.
  • Advise on good governance laws, public finance, water law, land-use law, environmental law, and public contracting, including the construction of public works responding to climate change.
  • Represent public agencies in compliance matters, negotiations, and strategic planning to ensure they meet their objectives while serving their communities.
  • Collaborate within a dynamic, resourceful, and supportive team focused on client success and professional growth.
  • Attend and advise during public meetings, both virtually and in person, providing clear and practical legal guidance.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in relevant practice areas, including working with public agencies.
  • Proven ability to handle direct client engagement and public meetings (or a willingness to learn).
  • Exceptional legal analysis, research, and writing skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • A team-oriented mindset, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to attend public meetings and provide legal counsel in person or virtually as needed.
  • JD from accredited law school.
  • Licensed in CA in good standing.
