Traffic Engineer – Indianapolis
A leading employee-owned engineering firm with over 60 years in business is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join the Transportation Department in Indianapolis, IN. This is a great opportunity to grow your career with one of the top firms in the nation.
Salary Range: $85,000 – $115,000 annually (depending on experience)
Responsibilities:
Perform traffic impact studies, safety studies, and signal optimization
Conduct intersection and roadway traffic modeling
Complete roundabout analysis and geometric evaluations
Prepare INDOT plans, reports, and technical proposals
Assist in traffic signal design and operations
Collaborate with clients, agencies, and contractors
Mentor junior staff and manage project tasks
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering required
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Experience with ITE Trip Generation Manual and traffic studies
Knowledge of INDOT standards preferred
Software skills: HCS, Synchro, Vissim, Rodel, MicroStation
